The trams didn't come to a halt. They moved through at very slow speed and people simply hopped off on the inward journey, and hopped on for the return journey. They could move more people, more efficiently, than anything today.View attachment 76104

Dee Why or Curl Curl at the wharf. They were distinctive for their offset funnels. One was in the middle of the vessel, the other was to one side. You can see it in this photo.
