Yeah I get where you’re coming from, mate. The experienced halfback route is a fair option. But there is a fine line between helping the kids come through and blocking their path. Are our kids ready? Definitely not. We’re in a tricky spot. But I’m looking forward to seeing them figure it out.

We need a stop gap, a classy one atm. Hutchinson is doing a well enough job but we are limping towards finals with him.

In the past the club would get a Stuart, Kimmorley type which pretty much gets us to the business end hence the Hunt call...

Our kids a raw or not good enough... We probably swap out Sexton for IIlas whilst we still carry Hutch.

Oneil needs a couple, Tia looks to be overtaking him and Woods even longer... Our kids are nowhere near ready.

DCE or Hunt would be a dream, Chad would suffice, Lachlan IIlas would probs be a decent grab if our kids don't work out.

Great post. There’s just a sense every week that we’re going to be competitive until the end, even when we let in some points early. The fact that after 9 rounds we are sitting in eight position on the ladder with a +25 points differential (comparable to Brisbane and Manly and not far off Penrith and Melbourne!) says it all and we are miles ahead of previous seasons and to be honest where we all thought we’d be this year.

With NSW Cup going so well and Todd/Papalii/O’Neill banging on the door, plus all the pathways stuff Gus is doing, it’s hard to imagine us not anchored up the top of the table in a couple of seasons if not sooner.
Last season we won 3 out of our first 5 games, but after 8 games we were coming 16th and had a differential of -81, already the worst in the league. We've actually only won 1 more game at this stage, but we look vastly improved in our performances. Next level of performance is turning more of those close losses into close wins, and comfortable wins into massive wins.
