Activist Laura Loomer sets up illegal immigrant 'sanctuary' on Nancy Pelosi's lawn

Conservative provocateur Laura Loomer’s latest stunt included bringing a trio of self-described illegal immigrants to set up a “sanctuary” on House Speaker Nancy’s Pelosi’s lawn in California.

Ms. Loomerlive-streamed the stunt on Periscope on Monday as a protest against the Democratic Party’s opposition to President Trump’s proposed southern border wall and Mrs. Pelosi’s characterization of the wall as “immoral.”


Ms. Loomer and her “amigos” reportedly from Mexico and Guatemala are seen in the video jumping over a small wall at Mrs. Pelosi’s Napa home and setting up a white tent on the lawn painted with the word “immorality.”

“Nancy is a very rich Democrat, and she believes that everyone is welcome here, and sanctuary is a human right,” Ms. Loomer said in the video.

The Daily Beast reporter Will Sommer, who was at the scene, tweeted that police eventually showed up and demanded that Ms. Loomer and the others provide identification, which they refused.

“[Calif. Gov.] Gavin Newsom said we don’t need IDs,” Ms. Loomer reportedly told the police.

The group was then kicked off Mrs. Pelosi’s lawn.

“I’m being deported!” Ms. Loomer yelled in the video.

No arrests were made, and Ms. Loomer walked off with a warning for trespassing and for trying the doors of Mrs. Pelosi’s house to see if they were locked, Mr. Sommerreported.

Mrs. Pelosi has not yet commented on the incident.

Ms. Loomer, a Jewish conservative, made headlines in November after she was banned from Twitter for criticizing Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar and then handcuffed herself to the Twitter headquarters in New York City in a demand to be reinstated.

I’m curious how being successful in life and having accumulated wealth is linked to immigration policy?

Border protection and immigration are completely different issues to an individual’s ability to be successful.

What has the homeless got to do with immigration policies? I just don't see the connection. Maybe they can all stay here though, only need to learn a bit of russian, they should be fine

I think you’re reaching here. If I believe in Medicare it doesn’t mean if you bring a person to me needing surgery I should pay for it out of my own pocket. Regardless of what side you are on policy isn’t about the individual.

Happy for us to discuss the merits of immigration policy but I really have no interest in the us and then mentality that’s going on at the moment.

Unsurprisingly, in the end, the enormous vegetable did little to solve the man’s problems, only making the pain and discomfort worse while also inducing nausea and vomiting. After another two days of this, he finally decided that it might be time to go to the hospital. At the hospital, he got an X-ray scan which showed that the aubergine was so large and had been shoved so far up his ass, that it was actually even causing damage to his lung.

Quickly, doctors at the hospital decided to operate and managed to carefully pull out the foreign object.

Afterward, they measured the eggplant, finding that it was around 30cm long. It’s not clear if he got to keep the vegetable afterwards.

His "reasons" for inserting the eggplant are a tad dubious.
