My paternal grandmother refused to use a trolley and would carry 5 bags in each hand.

Am I complaining, no way.

My Mother (when she was alive during her last few years) refused to use a wheelie Walker out shopping and she would have rather used a shopping trolley wether or not she needed it.

There's interesting science around this. You hear all the time about people smoking and drinking their whole life and living past 100, then you have perfectly healthy fitness freaks that drop dead at 50. The science on it is still very young but it looks like it's primarly genetics. Living a long life, having low chance of cancer, all primarily driven by genetics. So I say, enjoy life however you want.
