Its clear he was not man handling her or pushing her out of the way and showed her some respect yet knew he had a job to do in defending the try line.

I guess they kinda acknowledged that in the usual hapless way the NRL ol handle things by just fining him when they've stood others down. See what happens with Smith tho.
It was a reflex action. His focus was on the attack the whole time. He sensed her there, but may not have even realised it was the ref. Touching a ref happens a lot, yet the charges are few, and most are just incidental like this anyway.

I can’t see us fighting it though since we can pay the fine and move on.

When you criticize a woman it must be sexist
When you criticize an indigenous person it must be racist
When you criticize a homosexual it must be homophobia
When you criticize a Jewish person it must be anti-semitism
When you criticize a white heterosexual male...
It's because he is all of the above

regardless of gender or race, She is not the best person for the Job.
To be fair there are only like 2 maybe 3 refs that can handle the NRL atm. The rest cant handle the pace. Thank Vlandys and his obsession with speeding up the game for the extensive injuries and low quality officiating.

Can you imagine how good the game and officiating would be if the game was played at a 90's style footy with the technology they have today ?

Sezer gets 4 weeks for his hip drop on Curran yet doesn’t get binned during the game? For the second time this year badger lost any control of the match. She should have binned Bateman who was in her face on almost every play, she asked the bunker at least once what her ruling should be on particular incidents and the fact that Hughes has to move her out of the way so he could defend his line just highlights her ineptitude. She has no feel for the game at all and doesn’t even seem to have a decent grasp of the rules. Hughes shouldn’t have put his hands on her but he didn’t really have a choice. If it’s anything more than a fine the NRL can get fucked IMO.

Whats the issue here thought lol?

The Tigers play ran towards Hughes defensive position/gap then changed direction, Hughes pushed the referee out the way for the incoming possible contact that she might have impeded and possibly gotten hurt (female or male referee both get hurt if they are crunched between two professional footy players)

Also that referee in slow was smiling abit too much from the Smith contact lmao
No word of a lie.
I think it was Burton's last shot at goal.
If you watch the replay of Burton lining up to kick the goal.
You can see Casey badger behind him, and she appears to look down to check out his arse.
